Once in a lifetime experience! Super fun. Learned how to make pasta the RIGHT way, no machines. Food cooked was served at the end along with delicious gelato. 10/10!
We absolutely loved this experience! Our group of 8 family and close friends (2 couples with our 3 college-aged children and one teenager) booked this cooking class with Igor to celebrate my son’s 14th birthday while in Rome. He loves to cook and chose this as a special activity for the day. It ended up being a highlight of our 10 day trip to Italy.
Igor was very welcoming and greeted us with a smile and a Prosecco for each of us while he explained what we would do during our time with him. He was kind and fun and instantly connected with each of us. He patiently walked us through making 2 flavors of gelato and then several types of pasta, including ravioli. He made sure each of us was engaged in the activity and gave each of us help and attention ensuring we learned the art of making fresh pasta. Once it was ready to cook he took us into the kitchen where another chef was waiting to help him teach us how to make the sauces for the pasta.
Once done, we enjoyed our pasta with wine of our choice and finished with our gelato. There was plenty of pasta and wine (and Coke for my 14 year old) to send us off full and happy.
We had a lot of fun the entire time and although we went over our time by an hour, we never felt rushed - even though they had to prepare to open soon after we left. He even taught us how to sing “Happy Birthday” in Italian to our son and made sure to take photos of us throughout the activity to email to us after. We are all excited to make homemade gelato, pasta and sauce with the recipes he sends to remind us.
Igor is a great instructor and the nicest guy! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a fun, authentic and different experience in Rome!
Thank you again, Igor!!!
This was an amazing, authentic and informative experience! The food tasted great and let us explore Roman culture and cuisine. We look forward to bringing our new skills home to cook for friends and family!
Learning to make pasta and gelato was an amazing experience with Igor. Igor is friendly and informative, and made it fun for all of us. I highly recommend this experience in Rome.
This was a very fun (and delicious) experience. Igor is a very friendly and knowledgeable host who made us feel welcome and comfortable. He showed us how to make some truly amazing food in a fun and interactive way. He made sure we knew we could not only get the recipes we learned from him that day but ask him about other tips and foods as well, even after we return home from our trip. He was very friendly, conversing and laughing with us while we sat back and enjoyed the meal we had all prepared together. Highly recommended cooking class.
This was such a fun experience. We got to learn not only how to make the different dishes, but fact and knowledge about past and Italy you wouldn't normally learn from visiting. Igor was very knowledgeable and very passionate about cooking. They actually contacted us a few days before our class and offered for us to move classes because the first class we booked was full and they said it would be a better experience if we moved. We were able to change and ended up having a private class. It was very intimate. Igor was able to modify the menus based on our dietary needs and preferences which was amazing! Ive taken other Airbnb cooking classes where you are with a group of people and it seems very cookie cutter. Those classes were amazing and worked for us at the time but this was in a small, intimate restaurant and it just made the experience that much better. I can not recommend this experience enough!
What a great family experience. Igor was kind and made all ages feel welcome and comfortable. It was super hands on and we learned both about what we made as well as about things having to do w Italian culture and ingredients. A memorable experience!
