Enjoying one of Rome with Chef's Cooking Classes in Rome

With cooking classes becoming more and more popular as an experience in Rome, knowing which one is best for you can be a challenge. That’s why we’ve written this blog: to break down our top cooking classes according to price, difficulty, and the recipes you’ll be perfecting.

Featured Cooking Classes in Rome

Pasta & Tiramisù Class

Our pasta & tiramisù class adds an extra layer since you’ll be learning how to make a full Italian meal that’ll wow your friends and family back home!

Over three fun-filled hours, you’ll learn how to make two traditional Roman recipes — homemade fettuccine alla carbonara or cacio e pepe and creamy tiramisù — under the guidance of a local chef.

Your small-group class starts with a friendly meet-and-greet over a refreshing glass of prosecco. Then you’ll get down to making traditional Italian fettuccine from scratch, using only the freshest local ingredients. Get hands-on as you prepare and mix your dough, learning the tips and tricks we’ve been using for generations.

Find your inner flour power as you knead, roll out, and cut the ultimate homemade fettuccine. Then get saucy creating a typical Roman recipe: carbonara or cacio e pepe. What better way to finish your cooking class than by sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying your homemade meal of pasta and tiramisù with a glass of local wine?

Our pasta & tiramisù class is one of the best cooking classes in Rome for making a two-course meal and can be booked as a private cooking class or as part of a small-group class (with 12 guests maximum).

Spritz & Spaghetti Class

Spritz & Spaghetti is by far one of the best cooking classes in Rome for solo travellers, couples, and groups looking to have fun in Rome. This class combines a mixology demonstration – in which you’ll learn how to make and taste Aperol Spritz, Campari Spritz and Limoncello – and a pasta-making class (usually fettuccine alla carbonara or a similar creamy, cheesy Roman sauce).

It’s a boozier class than the other two and can be booked privately or as part of a small group (maximum 12 guests).

FAQs for Choosing a Cooking Class in Rome

How long are your cooking classes?

Each class lasts 3 hours, during which time you’ll enjoy a welcome glass of prosecco, learn how to cook traditional Roman recipes and enjoy a sit-down meal of what you’ve made.

Do I need to prepare anything in advance?

No! Just bring yourself, a can-do attitude, and a readiness to get creative in the kitchen!

Do you provide drinks?

We do indeed! Your chef will welcome you to each class with a glass of prosecco, and there’ll be a selection of wine or soft drinks to enjoy with your meal.

How will I remember the recipe?

Every participant will receive their recipes as an eBook via email.

Can I take part in cooking classes in Rome even if I don’t speak Italian?

Absolutely! All of our classes are in English (though that doesn’t mean you won’t learn some local lingo).

Does your cooking school have air conditioning?

Yes! Even if it’s sweltering outside, you’ll be cool as a cucumber inside our cooking school.

Where can I learn to cook in Rome?

At the Rome with Chef cooking school! You’ll find us here, just a stone’s throw from the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and a short walk from metro Termini or Cavour. (And if that doesn’t mean anything, here’s a handy guide to getting around Rome).
